IMPORTANT CHANGES!- First two week practices

    Hi Dolphin Families!

We wanted to notify you all of some important, unexpected changes for practices these next two weeks.  There is a new pool management company for the neighborhood and due to miscommunications in the contract by the HOA this summer, the pool will not be ready for swimming until after memorial day weekend.

Soooooo................ on to a NEW plan for the next two weeks.

Monday May 13, 5:30PM: Back to Swim Team Night
Please mark your calendar for our  "Back to Swim Team Night" Potluck.  We will provide popsicles and hot dogs for everyone.  Please consider signing up to bring a yummy side to share.  Here is a link for the potluck

Wednesday, May 15, 4:00-5:30 PM: Swim Team Game Night
Come play games with the coaches. We'll have a variety of game options for a variety of age groups.  Parent can choose to stay or drop off kids.

    Friday, May 17, 4:00-5:30PM: 5K Friday
Bring your running shoes and get ready to walk/run with the team.  Parents are welcome to join.  We'll have two different routes set up for different ages and abilities.  This is just for fun and cross training exercise!

Monday, May 20, 4:00PM: New Family Orientation
This is a special presentation for new families only.  We will discuss practices, swim meets, volunteering, and who we are as a team!  We want to make sure you feel welcome and have all your questions answered by the end.  We are also planning on setting up a "mock set up" for what a real swim meet will look like outside.

Wednesday, May 22, 4:00-5:00 and 5:00-6:00PM: Swim Videos and Capture the Flag

We will start out watching swim videos on you tube in the club house and then divide up into two teams for Capture the Flag.  Kids should dress for running and exercise for the game.  There are two times to choose from.  Kids can either attend the 4:00-5:00pm time of 5:00-6:00pm time.

    Friday, May 24, 4:00-5:30PM: 5K Friday
Bring your running shoes and get ready to walk/run with the team. Parents are welcome to join. We'll have two different routes set up for different ages and abilities. This is just for fun and cross training exercise!

    Tuesday/Thursday: Swim on your own
I've created a variety of workout options on a PDF doc attached to this email.  There is a beginner/Intermediate and Advanced swimmer option.  There is also a separate workout titled "Coaches Practice" for anyone interested in extra workout options.  Feel free to combine, change, or modify any of these workouts to fit your needs.  I would also LOVE it if you sent me pictures of your kids doing the workout I could share.
Below are some local pools that have "free swim" times and would make good options for lap swimming.

We understand that many swimmers were looking forward to swimming with the team next week so we apologize for the last minute change in plans.  We feel fortunate to have the clubhouse as a second meeting option and are seeing these next to weeks as an opportunity for extra team bonding and camaraderie!  Given the unpredictability with weather recently, this could also work out to the teams benefit as there will be a less likely chance for cancelations due to bad weather.

We are also hopeful there is still a chance we can have the pool open earlier than memorial day weekend.  We just won't know for certain as chemicals and supplies were ordered for Memorial day opening.  This is simply a game plan in the event we won't be able to have pool access at all.

Please reach out if you have any questions.  We look forward to seeing you all next week and will continue communicating important information and details as we know them.  I appreciate your understanding and support.

    Sincerely,
    Emilie Clarke
