Prelim Day 2 Results (7-13-21)
Day 2 Prelims done and in the books! Great job to everyone that was there and THANK YOU to all the volunteers who stepped up and helped out today!
I am attaching the Meet Results and Individual Results. Congratulations to everyone that made it into the Top 16 of their events!! We only had 12 swimmers there but wow! Small but fierce! Look at all those personal best times! And nearly everyone qualified in at least 1 event!
Here’s what the results mean:
The Top 16 swimmers in each event go on to the Championships. The top 8 swimmers will swim in the “Medal Round” while swimmers 9-16 will swim in the “Ribbon Round.”
Example: If your swimmer was #10 at Prelims they are in the Ribbon Round. So even if they swim the fastest time of everyone in their event at Championships, the best they will do is a 9th place ribbon.
If your swimmer does not make the Top 16 but makes it to 17 or 18 please be on stand-by. A vast majority of the time there are scratches on the day of Championships and many swimmers make it into their event after all! We are already being notified of swimmers that will not swim on Saturday and the swimmers that are moving up so I will let you know if it one of those changes affects your swimmer.
ALL-STARS: Congratulations to our newest All-Star, Brena Rangel, who qualified in the 50 Back today!!
AWARDS: Ribbons and Dolphin Dollars will be in the gray, file folder Awards Box. The box will be out on Wednesday. Any ribbons not picked up this week will be in your End-of-Year envelope at the Banquet. And envelopes not picked up at the Banquet will be in the swim team shed behind the baby pool for the remainder of the summer so you can stop by and ask a lifeguard for it. Or I’ll have it for you next year.
VOLUNTEERS: I know many of you were waiting to see if your swimmer made it to Championships so now you know if you’ll be there. And if you WILL be there, please stay until the end! All kinds of crazy things have happened for Relays and you never know when we may need your swimmer! So, since you’re going to be there all day anyhow, please sign up to help us out! If you have any questions you can contact Candace Ellman or Jane Robinson at [email protected] .

PRACTICE WEDNESDAY! Just a reminder that there WILL be practice Wednesday – Friday. It’s our last week of team practice! Even if you won’t be at Championships you are welcome to come get in a few last practices with your teammates!
ALL-STARS PRACTICE: All ages of All-Stars will have morning practice from 7:00am – 8:30am from July 19 - 23.
BANQUET: Thank you to everyone that has RSVP’d already! If you haven’t, please take a minute to do so. I added a “guest” field if you are bringing someone that wasn’t listed on your account. (But thank you for the notes too!) Because it is not a swim meet you will need to RSVP on the actual website, not the app. And if you can help set-up or clean-up it would be very much appreciated!
PHOTOS: Last call for any good photos that you are willing to share with Alisa Becerra. Look for an email invitation from Alisa Becerra (via Google Drive) with a subject line like: "DAM WEST DOLPHINS 2021 - Invitation to collaborate" She will be working hard to put everything together before Sunday so please help her out if you can!
CHAMPIONSHIPS: I will be posting and sending out details this week. If you ordered a T-Shirt I will be picking them up on Friday and will have them at the meet on Saturday.
I think that's it for now!
