Meet Results for 6/26/21
Great job today, Dolphins! You all swam your hearts out and I see a LOT of personal best times on the result sheet. (Indicated by a *.) We were outnumbered 110 to 49 but you all did amazing! AND, we finished the meet with a little time to spare before the rain and lightning got us! Woo-hoo!
I want to give an extra special THANK YOU to my Friday Night Set-Up people! You brave souls that came out in the rain to help us set-up! AND, since the lifeguards went home early and didn’t do ANY of their usual pre-meet jobs we got to do some bonus work. So thank you for being there!! (And see? Once you’ve done it a time or 2 or really does get easier!)
And another THANK YOU to everyone who stayed behind and helped put everything away! As always, greatly, greatly appreciated.
And one more huge THANK YOU to Alicia Hornback for running such a great concessions stand! Having it in the clubhouse took away 1/3 of the set-up and break-down process for everyone else but still lots of work for her and her crew. I love our new concessions area! Great job!
THANK YOU & FAREWELL! If you were at today’s meet, you might not have realized it but you were witness to the end of an era. Tim Burns & Dick Fulton have been our Meet Ref & Starter Dynamic Duo, Team Extraordinaire for over 20 years now. They are well-respected within the MHSL and run one of the cleanest, fastest and best meets in the league. They usually get asked to run Championships but they won’t be around for it this year so today was their LAST MEET!! The Tim & Dick show has officially come to an end. So THANK YOU Tim & Dick for your years of selfless volunteer service, for your training, for your patience and especially (personally) for the laughter, the dancing, the rocking out and for making our Home Meets one of the best in the league! YOU WILL BE MISSED!!
MEET RESULTS: The Meet Results and Individual Entry Results are attached. The final score was:
Clarke Farms 637
Dam West 254
To see how your swimmer(s) did look at the Individuals Result Sheets. To figure out how to read them go to the “How To Read Individual Results” page under the “Meet Information” tab. My favorite part is still that little * that means someone beat their own best time! (For new swimmers and new events, now you have a time to beat!) If you got an * you’ve earned a “dolphin dollar” worth 25 cents at our Home Meet concession stand! (I know, I know. We STILL need to change the name. Any suggestions?)
ALL-STARS: Yuichi Hunter added the 200 Free, Eric Kelly added the 200 Free, 100 Breast AND 200 IM, and our newest All-Star Alex Samudio qualified in the 50 Breast! Woo-hoo! Congratulations to you all!
AWARDS: Ribbons and Dolphin Dollars will be in the gray, file folder Awards Box. The box can be found during morning practice times. To keep wet little hands off of the files, I encourage the parents or coaches to help find the file and hand the swimmers their ribbons. PLEASE LEAVE THE FOLDER IN PLACE!! If Sandra can’t find your folder you won’t get your ribbons!
VOLUNTEERS: I have opened up the Volunteer Sign-Up list for the July 10th away meet back at Castle Pines Village. If you have any questions you can contact Candace Ellman or Jane Robinson at [email protected] .
SIGN-UP YOUR SWIMMER(S)! The Meet Entry button is open for our last dual meet! The deadline is Wed, July 7 @ 5:00pm.
If you know that you will be “Attending” or “Not Attending” you can go ahead and mark it now. You do not need to assign your swimmer to any events if you’re not sure - Coach Emilie can do that.
4th of JULY at the DAM WEST! There will be a pancake breakfast fundraiser at the clubhouse on the 4th of July followed by a parade around the neighborhood and some swim games later on. Everyone is invited! I will send out the events schedule once I have it.
OK, that’s it for now! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and sleeping in next weekend!
