    Updates & Changes

Well, we kicked off the 2021 season by testing out our communications system yesterday.  My apologies to those that didn't get the message in time.  Here's what I know about our new system:

If you download the SwimTopia mobile app (links are on the home page) and I send out an "alert" - it will ONLY show as an "alert" text message on the app.  (No email so you have to check the app.)  If I send out an "alert" and you do not have the app, it will send the alert as an email.

If I send out a separate email just be aware that for those without the SwimTopia app, you will get 2 emails.  (One alert, one email.)   I will probably send both while we get use to using the app.

The alert or email will also show as a "News" post on our Home Page and I will try to update our FB page as well.

As you can see, the weather is again looking quite questionable today.   Keep an eye out for messages this afternoon.  I will wait until at least 3:00pm and no later than 3:30pm to decide.  (Murphy's Law has proven repeatedly that if I cancel too soon the sun will come out just to taunt us.)

Coach Emilie and I had a chance to meet with the new pool manager and discuss some of the changes that happened May 15th when Tri-County Health moved Arapahoe County to "Level Clear."  Based on that information we are making some changes:

    1)  Social Distancing: We ask that everyone continue to be mindful of keeping a 6' social distance from others.  We are still working on setting up marked areas, etc to help.  We may only have 1 gate to come in and out of at the moment so please be mindful of those around you.  And we ask that the swimmers use their towels or bags to mark their area and stay spaced out from each other (but near their own siblings.)

    2)  Masks:  We will not be requiring masks in the pool area for practices.  You are, of course, welcome to wear one if you prefer.

    3)  Parent Seating:  The pool furniture will be out so if parents would like to sit on them, they can.  We will not be disinfecting between practices but you can bring your own wipes or towels if you'd like.  And you are always welcome to bring your own chairs. Again, please be mindful of social distancing.

    4)  Kickboards:  We have decided to make the kickboards available for practices rather than loaning them out.   If you are not comfortable with your swimmer using a communal kickboard, please have them bring their own.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or problems.

OK, I think that's all for the moment.  Keep an eye out for updates this afternoon and think happy, sunny thoughts!
