Hello Dolphin Families,

I’m going to list out all of the upcoming events and deadlines in this very long email. But first, a few words about Prelims. I’ve attached a document (“What are Prelims”) to try and explain them as best I can but here are some highlights:

• ALL swimmers (that can swim without a coach in the water) are expected and encouraged to attend.
• Because Prelims are always on a Monday and Tuesday most parents work so it is REALLY challenging to get volunteers. So, if you are going to be there, PLEASE volunteer if you can!
• If you can’t be there but your swimmer could go and just needs a ride, please let us know. Candace Ellman ([email protected]) will be helping to coordinate rides.
• Coach Emilie is asking parents to make notes of All-Star goals (if applicable) and pick at least one event you’re sure your swimmer wants to do (if possible) while signing up for Prelims.

I know Prelims are confusing so feel free to ask questions.  OK, on to the schedule. Here we go…

4^th of JULY: We could still use some volunteers to help set-up tents, tables and chairs at 7:15am. The pancake breakfast will be in front of the clubhouse where concessions usually is. The sitting/eating area will be on the pool deck.  Breakfast starts at 8:00am.  (So does the Fun Run if you want to participate!)

I had a few of the times wrong on my last email so be sure to check the flyer for the actual times. (Kickball is at 1:00pm. Swim games are at 2:00pm.)

If you plan on joining us for the 4^th of July parade, please use the link below so we have an idea on headcount and if we have any vehicles to use as a “float.” (So far no one has signed up.)

As you can see from the road signs and construction crews, they began to mill our roads this morning so the pavement may not be so nice for scooters. Everyone is welcome to participate (parents too!) You can walk or use a wagon, bike, stroller, etc. All are welcome. Decorate away! Trucks will be most welcome!

JULY 5 (Wednesday):  NO PRACTICE! 13-18 year olds are welcome to come play water polo at 9:00am.  (Optional)

JULY 8 (Saturday): AWAY MEET at HOLLY PARK. The deadline to sign-up your swimmers is Monday, 7/3/23 @ 5:00pm. Please mark your swimmer as “attending” or “not attending” and sign-up for a volunteer position!

JULY 10 (Monday): PRELIMS for 8 & UNDERS and 13-18 YEARS OLD will be here at the DAM WEST pool. If you are new to the team please read the attached “What Are Prelims” doc. The deadline to sign-up your swimmers is Monday, 7/3/23 @ 5:00pm. Please mark your swimmer as “attending” or “not attending” and sign-up for a volunteer position if you will be there.

JULY 11 (Tuesday): PRELIMS for 9-10 and 11-12 YEAR OLDS will be at the HILLS WEST pool. If you are new to the team please read the attached “What Are Prelims” doc. The deadline to sign-up your swimmers is Monday, 7/3/23 @ 5:00pm. Please mark your swimmer as “attending” or “not attending.” Volunteer positions are not yet posted – waiting on Hills West. I will send out an email when they are open!

JULY 15 (Saturday): CHAMPIONSHIPS!! After Prelims we will have the results and know which swimmers have qualified in which events. Once you know if your swimmer(s) has qualified, the deadline to sign-up will be Wednesday, 7/12/23 @ 5:00pm. Volunteer positions are not yet open.

JULY 16 (Sunday): TEAM POTLUCK BANQUET! This year we are trying something different - we are pushing the time back to 4:00pm – 7:00pm. (This way we can all rest a little more on Sunday.) It’s a potluck and it will be around dinner time so bring something good to share! (haha!)

The deadlines are earlier than usual because there is SO MUCH going on plus the holidays! SO PLEASE RSVP FOR ALL OF IT, ASAP! It is all on the Sign-Up Calendar.
